The Board of County Commissioners appoints the Superintendent of Schools Designee. The responsibilities of the designee is to file all the school records and assume primary responsibility of restructuring school district boundaries.

The County has a Joint Powers Agreement with the School to hold the spelling bees, math counts and other local State contest.

The Devils Lake Bus Department plans and conducts a workshop for the training of school bus drivers.
