The Recorder is an elected official in Ramsey County. The position is responsible for the recording of legal documents according to specifications of North Dakota statutes as set forth in the North Dakota Century Code; maintaining and preserving an archival copy of those records for public use; filing personal property liens in a statewide central indexing system; filing wills for safekeeping; and for the administration and policy functions of the Recorder's Office.

The mission of the Ramsey County Sheriff's Department is to provide law enforcement services to the people of Ramsey County in a professional, fair and impartial manner; recognizing both the statutory and judicial limitations of our office and the constitutional rights of all persons.

Ramsey County Social Services provides services that are directed by public statute or policy, to vulnerable children, adults and families so that they may secure or maintain self-sufficiency. Primary program areas including economic assistance for low income individuals and families; Family Services for families facing serious problems which could put children at risk; Adult Services for low income elderly and disabled individuals in need of assistance to remain in their own homes.

The States Attorney department is responsible for prosecuting all criminal matters, as well as juvenile delinquencies, child deprivations and parental termination; providing legal service to county departments; representing petitioners in mental health commitments; and provide guidance and training to law enforcement agencies within Ramsey County.

The Director of Equalization office oversees the property tax assessment function for Ramsey County. In addition to assisting the public, our office advises the Ramsey County Commission concerning valuation, taxation, and assessment issues.

The Treasurer's duties include receiving all incoming money, balancing accounts, collect fees and fines, monthly disbursements to county entities, invest funds to receive the best return, and provide information to lending agencies.

Responsible for maintaining a Veterans Service Office for the purpose of assisting veterans, widows of veterans, children or other eligible relatives of veterans in making claims for benefits to the Veterans Administration. Supervising in all matters of administration, counseling veterans and referring them to the appropriate professional people to alleviate their problems.
